I met the best dietician in Delhi and continued to process my control as per his prescription. I have a few diet rules that I absolutely live by:-
I never order colas or soft drinks. No chocolate and Nutella smoothies as well – It’s been years since I have even tasted these things. I don’t know how this tastes and hence I never crave for it.
I never eat milk chocolate- If I do crave something sweet which is very rare I will reach out for dark chocolate made out of cacao nibs and not cocoa. I aim for 80–85% cacao presence gives me a boost of antioxidants and magnesium. Great to decrease menstrual cramps as well.
I never put unnecessary sugar in my coffee or any drink at all – I don’t ever put sugar in lemon water or any kind of tea or shakes. Sugar is most often overused. We don’t really need it.
I never avoid rice and potatoes- Rather I always take care of the amount I am consuming. Keep your portion sizes under control. Always combine rice with ghee, veggies, and dals. Sweet potato tastes yum when baked with green chutney. If you want great skin and hair you must eat ghee and rice.
I never eat breakfast- Breakfast is great and you must eat it you feel hungry. But don’t eat anything just because it’s breakfast time or lunchtime. Eat according to your body’s signals and eat when hungry. Avoid eating when you don’t feel like.
I always workout empty stomach – I swear to god I lift so much better when working out empty stomach. No banana or espresso needed. Our body has miraculous cellular energy and it works like a charm all throughout the day. Caffeine, on the other hand, gives you a false and negative sense of energy. You will reach out for another cup every few hours because it’s false energy this is what Dietician Ekta Jain suggests.
Drink water if hunger pangs hit post-lunch- our brain confuses thirst with hunger most of the times. All you need is a glass or two of water and you’re good to go.
I never leave home without food – I always carry homemade snacks, lidos, nuts, and seeds, etc. I always know what I am going to eat. Always!
Don’t combine two carbohydrates together – Eat dosa with coconut chutney and sambhar. Skip the potato’s bhaji. Not needed this Is as per the Go Diets Clinic suggestion.
The first meal of the day should have good amounts of protein, fats, and carbohydrates – For me, the best thing is vegetable smoothie made in ghee. Proteins shake with some peanut butter. Yummmmmmmm!
