“I am on my weight loss journey,” this is the most trending sentence that I am hearing in recent times. Many people who approach me to my clinic are purely for weight loss. So, according to my point, every people have to be educated or made aware of weight loss. Though the causative factors may vary, the stress that the word “weight” has created in people’s mind is more or less the same. So as a health care professional, I thought it is very necessary to inculcate some ideas to change their lifestyle habits thus making them confident in maintaining a healthy weight. Here I would like to share few points on modifications that you can bring to maintain a healthy weight and get success through your weight loss journey.
In recent times junk and processed foods are dominating both kids and adults, in a way that they cannot get over it. But the major reason for putting on extra kilos is the regular or I would say addiction to these unhygienic foods that are easily brought to your hands. This practice should be eliminated from your routine. And instead, have a handful of healthy nuts or vegetable salads or fruits.
Backed up with several works with lots of stress, we are in the stage of losing our physical activity. Everything is being mechanized and even our foods are delivered to you while sitting on your living room. We are in lack of physical activity when compared with our ancestors. This is the second major reason for your unhealthy weight gain. Lack of physical activity not only gains you with extra kilos but also invite much ill health to your body. Thus making a regular physical activity like walking, jogging, cycling or indulging yourself in any your favorite sport helps you to shed your extra weight. This freshens your soul and also makes you feel energetic throughout the day.
Always give more space for vegetables and fruits in your plate than rice. Many people have the habit of filling their tummy with loads of rice or any other main dish and then placing some veggies here and there in the gaps. I always recommend my clients to have more veggies and fruits than rice. It is always better to group the veggies to half of your plate. If you start to practice this eating habit, I am sure you will be devoid of many ill issues on your health and of course free from the word obesity.
While on your weight loss journey, it is always best to avoid the salt and salt-based foods like pickles, pappads and so on. For most people, high salt may retain the fluids in the body thus contributing to increased weight. When you are high on your weight, it is highly possible to get hypertension and many other heart-related issues. The salt is one among the foods contributing to high blood pressure. Hence it is always better to avoid salt and salt-based products.
Avoiding highly fried and oily items may help you to reach your desired weight loss quickly. I can suggest you consume boiled and shallow fried foods, but I know it is very difficult to follow. But what else to do? It should be followed no other go. But I can recommend you to take it occasionally thus limiting your intake level.
When we are in the space of discussing weight loss, there are a lot more topics to be covered and put forth for discussion. But everything cannot be shared in a single time. So as final words from my side are that, weight loss is not much difficult as you think. It can be made as a simpler one when you are ready to join your hands along with a health care professional. The above-discussed points are common advice to all people who are in their initial phase of losing weight. But it is always better to consult a nutritionist or a dietitian to get a personalized diet plan and thus finding the right cause of your weight gain and eliminating the causative factor. Hence providing you the quickest results.
